Dr. Zara Asgharpour, MBA is a pharmaceutical and biotechnology executive with global recognition in external innovation, strategic partnerships and venture investments. She has build a career at the intersection of scientific innovation, technology search and evaluation and investment. She leads on external innovation partnerships at Integrated Biologics R&D division at Lonza and is based in Switzerland. She has held senior innovation leadership role at Lonza, one of the world's leading contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) serving the biopharmaceutical industry.
She is well-known as a deal-maker and recognized for her work in brining emerging technologies to large-scale biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing organization. With a scientific background (PhD in Human Biology from LMU Munich) combined with an MBA from Judge Business School, Cambridge University, she brings over 15 years of experience in early innovation partnerships and venture capital investments in lifescience sector. She is also a member of the Economic Advisory Board of Switzerland Innovation, contributing industry expertise to Switzerland's national innovation ecosystem.
