Yuta Lee founded Accelerated Biosciences Corp in September of 2013 to commercialize the pluripotent human trophoblast stem cell platform. His father, Professor Jau-Nan Lee, had isolated and characterized hTSC in 2003. Yuta was instrumental in the filing and prosecution of intellectual property to protect hTSC. To date, Accelerated Biosciences has been awarded 49 patents worldwide. Yuta continues to expand the IP with 7 patent families.
Prior to Accelerated Bio, Yuta worked for 8 years in the property and casualty insurance industry. He served as a senior business analyst for ULLICO Inc., a union-based insurance company in Washington DC, tasked with structuring a turnaround strategy. Yuta also served as the youngest expatriate for American International Group, sent to Taipei, Taiwan to develop new products. Prior to AIG, Yuta worked as an underwriter for financial institutions at Chubb Group, analyzing risks such as directors & officer’s insurance, professional liability, fidelity, and kidnap & ransom.
Yuta has dual B.A. degree in economics and legal studies from the University of California, Berkeley. Yuta earned his MBA in 2009 from China Europe International Business School in Shanghai, China and graduated with the Outstanding Graduate of the Year Award.
