Will Canestaro, PhD, MSc is Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Accipiter Biosciences, a Seattle-based biotechnology company developing de novo multifunctional biologics using a computational protein design platform, backed by Takeda with partnerships with Pfizer and Kite Pharma.
A venture capitalist, health economist, and meta-epidemiologist by training, Will brings 20 years of experience spanning pharmaceutical outcomes research, life sciences investing, and biotech operations. Prior to Accipiter, he served as Managing Director at WRF Capital, overseeing a portfolio of over 30 life sciences venture investments. He has over 20 peer-reviewed publications and has worked extensively on pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement policy, including developing quantitative and quantitative frameworks that model the innovation impact of federal drug pricing legislation such as the Inflation Reduction Act.
Will is Venture Partner at Pack Ventures, Translational Advisor at the UW Institute for Protein Design, and Teaching Faculty at the UW School of Business, where he teaches health innovation. He received his PhD in Health Economics and Policy from the UW School of Pharmacy, an MSc from Oxford, and a BA from Dartmouth.
