Walter Greenleaf, PhD, is a neuroscientist and medical technology developer at Stanford University. With over thirty-five years of medical research and product development experience, Walter is a leading authority in digital medicine and clinical virtual reality technology. Walter has expertise in a wide range of clinical sectors, specifically emphasizing the application of virtual reality and digital health technology. He has developed systems that address a spectrum of conditions, including post-traumatic stress and anxiety disorders, stroke, addictions, autism, depression, and other challenging problems in behavioral and physical medicine. Walter is an advisor to Stanford University’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab, the Stanford University Wearable Electronics (eWear) Program, and the Virtual Reality & Immersive Technology (VR-IT) Clinic at Stanford. He previously served as the Director of the Mind Division at the Stanford Center on Longevity, focusing on age-related changes in cognition. Walter was the founding Chief Science Officer for Pear Therapeutics and works with Interaxon as Chief Science Officer. In addition to his research at Stanford University, Walter is the technology and neuroscience advisor to several early-stage medical product companies and investment groups.
