Valerie Yu is a healthcare investor with experience across venture capital, growth/private equity, and public equity investing. She is currently Associate Director on the Healthcare Investment Team at Tencent Investment, where she focuses on global healthcare opportunities across therapeutics, biotechnology, and life sciences in both private and public markets.
Valerie has a particular focus on the “China Biotech for Global” theme, actively investing in China-originated biotech companies and China NewCo platforms established in the U.S. to advance innovative assets globally. Prior to Tencent, she was a healthcare analyst at Teng Yue Partners, a Tiger Cub long/short hedge fund. Earlier, she held investment roles at FountainVest Partners and Legend Capital, focusing on healthcare growth equity, private equity, and venture investments.
Valerie has cross-border investment experience across the U.S., China, and Israel. She earned an M.S. in Clinical Development from Harvard University and a B.A. in Economics from Nankai University.
