Usman Anwer is co-founder and CEO of Frontier Instruments, an applied AI lab building highly steerable, verifiable AI systems for life sciences. His career has centered on building physical R&D systems for high-stakes use cases, from chemical production to rocket launch. Previously, Usman was the founding product leader for AWS's Industrial IoT and generative AI platforms, serving thousands of R&D-intensive customers across the full product lifecycle—from ideation to scaled production. Most recently at AWS, he worked directly with frontier labs to bring their models (e.g., Claude) to the cloud at scale, and supported some of the first AI agent deployments by Fortune 500 companies. At Frontier Instruments, he applies this experience to help cell therapy and biologics customers adopt agentic AI in their core processes with confidence. Usman holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Yale and is based in Seattle.
