Tommaso Biancalani is a Senior Director and Head of AI for Research Biology, where he leads the BRAID organization (Biological Research | AI Development). His department focuses on leveraging high-throughput data with modern AI techniques to advance biological questions, with emphasis on target identification. Previously, Tommaso was at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard where he led the AI for Genomics group under Aviv Regev. Tommaso obtained his PhD in statistical physics from the University of Manchester in 2013, and completed his postdoctoral trainings at the Carl Woese Institute for Genomic Biology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
