Tom brings over 25 years of experience at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data science, and biomedical research to ProFound. As Chief Technology Officer, he leads the development of the ProFoundry™ Platform and its knowledge engine—the ProFoundry™ Atlas, a leading database linking novel human proteins to their functions in health and disease. His mission: to unlock insights from the expanded human proteome and identify transformative drug targets. A pioneer in causal AI and scientific machine learning, Tom has built platforms that revealed hidden disease mechanisms and accelerated drug discovery. Before joining ProFound, he served as Chief Scientific Officer at BullFrog AI and held leadership roles at BioAI Health, HiberCell, and Genuity Science, where he integrated causal inference, quantum machine learning, and high-performance computing to advance translational medicine. A GIGA Society Fellow and Accredited Professional Statistician®, Tom’s work has appeared in Nature and Science. He holds multiple AI-driven drug discovery patents and an Honorary Professorship at Queen Mary University of London, with doctoral degrees from Virginia Tech and Oxford.
