Tohru Satoh was previously engaged in the global expansion of Opdivo at Ono Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and later served as the founder and representative of an overseas affiliate. He then held positions as Head of Business Planning at Oncolys BioPharma Inc. and as a Board Member of Liquid Biotech USA, a University of Pennsylvania spin-off. In February 2020, he founded SONIRE Therapeutics Inc.
