Timothy Schiavoni

Mr. Schiavoni is the Director of the Advanced Development and Manufacturing Capabilities (ADMC) division within JPL-CBRND Enabling Biotechnologies (EB). He has supported the ADMC mission since its inception in 2012 and obtained his current position in July 2019. Mr. Schiavoni reports to the Joint Product Lead for Enabling Biotechnologies.
As the Director of ADMC, Mr. Schiavoni is responsible for ensuring that the JPEO-CBRND has prioritized access to strategic investments in biopharmaceutical manufacturing infrastructure and technologies – most notably the DoD-ADM Facility in Alachua, FL. In this role, Mr. Schiavoni ensures that these strategic investments are both compliant with the FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and operationally available to rapidly respond to the government’s medical countermeasure (MCM) manufacturing requirements. Furthermore, Mr. Schiavoni leads the JPEO’s efforts to establish optimized biopharmaceutical manufacturing solutions in terms of platforms, technologies, procedures, and equipment.
Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Schiavoni spent an additional 12 years in private industry serving as an engineering subject matter expert in biopharmaceutical product development, manufacturing, and automation.
Mr. Schiavoni was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University; and an MS in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University. Mr. Schiavoni is Level III certified in Systems Engineering from the Defense Acquisition University. Mr. Schiavoni is also a member of the U.S. Army Civilian Critical Acquisition Workforce. Mr. Schiavoni is married with two children.
