Thomas Butler, Co-Founder & CEO, is a seasoned biotech executive and entrepreneur with a proven
track record of founding, scaling, and leading clinical-stage biopharmaceutical companies. Prior to
BioRevolution, he co-founded Biomea Fusion in 2018, serving as CEO and Chairman, and grew the
company from a single employee into a fully integrated drug discovery and development
organization. Biomea Fusion went from an idea to a public company in 2021 and reached a market
cap of more than $1.5B in 2023 following positive Phase 2 clinical data in Diabetes. The company
raised $350M across three funding rounds, and advanced multiple programs from lead
identification through IND-enabling studies to five clinical trials involving over 300 patients.
Earlier, Thomas served as Head of Investor Relations at Pharmacyclics, helping grow the company’s
market cap from $6.7B to over $21B, including one of the largest biotech acquisitions in the sector.
He began his career as a medicinal chemist at Gilead Sciences, contributing to the Hepatitis C cure
program and co-inventing VEKLURY® (Remdesivir), developed for COVID-19.
