Takashi Kiyoizumi, MD

Takashi Kiyoizumi is a pharmaceutical executive and entrepreneur with over 40 years of experience in the life sciences industry. He has served as an advisor and board member for BTB Therapeutics since 2021 and was appointed CEO in 2024. Additionally, he is an investment member of the NuFund Venture Group, an angel investor network based in San Diego, California since 2006.
From 2000 to 2005, as the founder and CEO of MediciNova Inc. (NASDAQ: MNOV), he raised over $180 million through private placement and an initial public offering. Prior to MediciNova, he served as CEO of Tanabe Research Laboratories, USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation.
Dr. Kiyoizumi earned his MD and PhD from the Keio University School of Medicine and holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
