Solomon Simunovic

Solomon Simunovic currently serves as the Head of Business Development at Calico Life Sciences, supporting the company’s growth by developing innovative scientific collaborations and business partnerships with academic institutions and companies in the life science sector. With a career spanning over 15 years in biopharma, Solomon's experience in strategic partnerships, business development, and alliance management helps shape Calico's long-term trajectory. Solomon joined Calico in 2023 after spending over 13 years at Genentech, where he held progressively senior leadership positions. Most recently, as Senior Director of Business Development, he sourced and executed high-impact collaborations. His diverse experience at Genentech also included roles in Alliance and Asset Management, R&D Finance, and Technical Operations, giving him a comprehensive end-to-end understanding of the drug development and commercialization lifecycle. Solomon holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University.
