Shravan Sukumar joined Flagship Pioneering in 2024 as the Director of AI/ML and Data Sciences at Pioneering Medicines, responsible for developing and implementing Pioneering Medicines’ AI strategy and capabilities and harnessing AI platforms across the Flagship ecosystem. Shravan is a multi-disciplinary researcher and leader with 14 years of academic and industry research experience in Artificial Intelligence, Data Sciences, and biotechnology. Before joining Pioneering Medicines, he served for two years as the Associate Director, Genomics, and Data Science Leader at Flagship-founded Ring Therapeutics, where he developed Ring's AI strategy and led a research team to build AI-based and computational tools to enable the platform. He also led Ring's high-throughput screening and AI-based design efforts towards optimizing key properties of AnelloVectors for gene therapy applications. Previously, Shravan held several roles at Corteva Agriscience, where he led collaborative research efforts to identify, design, and engineer novel protein- and small molecule-based leads for agricultural applications. Shravan holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.Sc. in Biological Sciences, and a B.E. in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, India.
