He also writes and curates AI Rx, a weekly newsletter exploring how AI is reshaping healthcare, drug discovery, and the broader life sciences ecosystem. In addition, Ryan contributes to WIRED, where he offers perspective on emerging technologies and their impact on the biotech and health sectors. Earlier in his career, Ryan worked as a journalist for a daily newspaper and as a freelancer for The New York Times, before joining Bloomberg News to cover technology, wine, and biotechnology. He later transitioned to public relations, advising biopharma clients on media strategy, and went on to lead global communications initiatives at Johnson & Johnson, focusing on innovation across multiple business units. More recently, he has headed communications for several high-growth biotech companies, overseeing corporate rebrands, managing crises, driving employee engagement, and establishing best practices in external and internal communications.
