Public health professional, merging medicine and epidemiology as a senior manager on the Hepatitis team with NASTAD, overseeing a CDC Division of Viral Hepatitis funded online technical assistance platform, HepTAC. Through HepTAC, technical assistance is provided to health departments in the US and it’s territories to strengthen their response to viral hepatitis in areas including epidemiology/surveillance; support for the implementation of hepatitis C care and treatment models; stigma & discrimination; and medication access and drug pricing (including 340B) and elimination planning.
Previously oversaw a portfolio of activities in 5 countries in Central America, funded via PEPFAR/CDC, working to strengthen HIV strategic information produced by Ministries of Health via their National HIV Programs. Experienced in global health research, including program evaluation and surveillance system strengthening. Also experienced in clinical medicine in the U.S., licensure to practice clinical medicine in Mexico; field experience in epidemiology, specifically NTDs, vector control (arbovirus) and influenza response.
