Primal is currently vice president, Inflammation and Rare Disease therapeutic area chair and therapeutic area head global development at Amgen. Since joining Amgen in 2008, Primal has progressively taken on roles of increasing responsibility within clinical development, medical affairs and enterprise portfolio leadership. Primal started her industry career at Amgen in bone global development and was part of a global launch. She joined the biosimilars R&D team in 2012 and served as therapeutic head for inflammation development programs as well as scientific affairs head for the biosimilars portfolio. Under her leadership, the team successfully filed numerous NDAs, BLAs and global approvals; and pioneered scientific affairs strategies Since 2017, Primal has taken on various leadership roles within global development of Inflammation pipeline, built a team ground up, leading to her current dual of development and portfolio leadership. Former to Amgen, Primal was Assistant Professor and Director of Osteoporosis Center at Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia. She completed Rheumatology training at Thomas Jefferson University and has also received MBA from Fox School of Business, Philadelphia.
