Pedro D. Martinez is Director, Health at UnidosUS, the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S. working to build Health, Wealth, and Power by creating opportunities for Latinos. Mr. Martinez co-leads the CDC-funded cooperative agreement aimed to reduce racial and ethnic disparities in adult immunizations among Latino populations, currently focusing on COVID-19. Mr. Martinez has over fifteen years of experience delivering technical assistance, capacity building, scientific guidance, and program development and implementation expertise within communities, including county, state, and federal level. As a trained epidemiologist and practice-driven program director, Mr. Martinez has gained expertise in the following public health topic areas: maternal and child health, injury and violence prevention including drug overdose and suicide prevention, and public health epidemiology/surveillance. Mr. Martinez received his Master of Public Health in Research Epidemiology from Loma Linda University and Bachelor of Science in Public Health Sciences from the University of California – Irvine.
