Dr. Parul Mahajan, MBBS, MPH, PGDCTM, is currently a Senior Consultant at ZS in Emerging Pharma as a part of Knowledge Services. She has >6 years of experience in business consulting, insight generation, stakeholder management, and secondary business research. She is also working with the ZS Discovery/ Biomedical Research, and Strategy & Transformation teams on building a PoV on emerging therapeutic modalities which are anticipated to become big innovations in the field of drug discovery. Dr. Parul is a physician by background, and has worked as an Anesthesiology & Critical Care resident in the past. Additionally, she has done international clerkships in Internal Medicine, and Oncology & Palliative Care in the US (including, at Drexel University, Pennsylvania, and the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics). She has been helping teams at ZS in understanding the clinical implications of diseases and drugs. She has led and executed many projects (especially, around indication prioritization and market opportunity assessment), bringing together her expertise in research, medicine, and business development to help biopharma clients with strategic choices during product development. She has leveraged her scientific expertise to help emerging pharmaceutical companies define priorities, design clinical trials, and make strategic decisions from R&D to commercialization. Dr. Parul holds a range of licenses and certifications from the past (including, USMLE Step 3 clearance & ECFMG certification). Preceding her tenure at ZS, she served as a medical officer in the ICU in India. She also holds a master’s in public health from Saint Louis University, Missouri, in Global Health and Environmental & Occupational Health. She has previously earned a PG diploma in clinical trial management from Institute of Clinical Research India (ICRI). Dr. Parul has been a co-author for journals like, Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine, and Tropical Journal of Medical Research in the past.
