Nigel Otto is the Founder and Chief Scientist of Weka Biosciences, a Santa Fe-based enzyme innovation company he established in 2014. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma and brings deep expertise in polysaccharide chemistry, enzyme biology, and biomanufacturing. Nigel leads all aspects of Weka's research, product development, and commercialization — advancing the company's novel glycosaminoglycan platform from NSF SBIR-funded discovery through two commercial products, Nextan™ and Testan™, with applications in chiral chromatography and a longer-horizon therapeutic pipeline.
