Nicholas Schafer, PhD

Nicholas Schafer, PhD, is the CEO and Co-founder of Constantiam Biosciences, a precision medicine company integrating high-throughput functional genomics with machine learning to translate human genetic variation into targeted therapies. Under his leadership, Constantiam has advanced its proprietary platforms, RareScan and MAVEvidence, to dramatically derisk drug discovery and resolve clinical variants of uncertain significance for diagnostics labs globally.Dr. Schafer is a biophysicist specializing in computational structural biology, protein misfolding, and molecular aggregation. This technical foundation directly drives Constantiam’s lead therapeutic asset, CB-001—a first-in-class, brain-penetrant oral pharmacological chaperone being developed for Gaucher Disease Type 3 and GBA-associated Parkinson’s disease (GBA-PD).He earned his PhD in Physics from Rice University, completed postdoctoral training at Aarhus University, and serves as a visiting scientist at the Center for Theoretical Biological Physics. He holds a BS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
