Neerja Balachander is the Vice President, U.S. Clinical Development Medical Affairs and Cardiorenal Metabolic Therapeutic Area Head at Boehringer Ingelheim, where she helps lead medical and clinical development strategy across obesity and related cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases. A physician by training, Neerja has 20 years of experience in clinical medicine, academic research, management consultancy and healthcare.
Her expertise spans field and headquarters medical affairs, pre-launch strategy and commercialization. She is dedicated to bringing transformative products to market and is a passionate advocate for diversity in clinical trials and healthcare equity.
Neerja earned her medical degree from Osmania Medical College, an MS in Biomedical Engineering from IIT-Bombay, and a PhD in Systems Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins.
