Maryann Edwards, M.S., MBA, serves as the Capability Portfolio Manager for Medical Readiness and Response in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (ODASW(CBRND)).
With over 20 years of experience in CBRN defense, medical readiness, and national security policy, she has also led clinical and reference laboratory operations as a biomedical scientist within the Air Force Medical Service, overseeing large-scale diagnostic testing, laboratory management, and quality assurance for global military health operations.
Edwards has led multidisciplinary teams across the Department of War, driving innovation in medical countermeasures research, development, and acquisition. She has overseen the modernization and fielding of critical CBRN assets, managed large-scale acquisition programs, and shaped policy at both national and international levels.
Edwards holds an M.S. in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics, an M.B.A. in Healthcare Management, and professional certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP, Project Management Institute) and Engineering and Technical Management (ETM Practitioner, Defense Acquisition University).
