Mary Kay Fenton, MBA

Mary Kay Fenton has thirty years of operational and transactional experience in the biotechnology industry. Most recently, Mary Kay served as Interim CEO/CFO of Talaris Therapeutics, Inc. (TALS), a recently merged, clinical-stage cell therapy company. Prior to Talaris, she served as Vice President, Strategic Operations for the Cell and Genetic Therapies unit at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, having transitioned to Vertex after its acquisition of Semma Therapeutics where she served as CFO/COO. Mary Kay also served as CFO, Achillion Pharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage drug development company, prior to its ultimate acquisition by AstraZeneca. In her various roles, Mary Kay was instrumental in company development and growth, leading both financial and operational functions, and managing critical transactions including multiple public and private capital raises, strategic collaborations, and business combinations. She holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Connecticut and an A.B. in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross.
