Marredia Crawford is Baker McKenzie's Chief Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Officer. A member of the firm's global leadership team, Marredia leads Baker McKenzie's efforts to create an environment that is committed to respect and empowerment for all, working with practice and industry groups and local teams around the world, celebrating differences and empowering every individual. Marredia has a proven track record of leadership and a deep-rooted passion for enacting positive, lasting change, playing a pivotal role in ensuring that Baker McKenzie’s global strategy is centred around creating better experiences for all of its people, better outcomes for clients and sustainable change in the industry. Marredia joined Baker McKenzie in 2018 as North America ID&E Manager. Through this role she helped to create a more inclusive workplace for lawyers and business professionals alike, which was recognized both internally and externally. She drove the successful Lawyers of Color Conference in North America, worked to embed ID&E throughout the practice groups, and focused on recruiting, retaining, and promoting talent and supporting underrepresented groups. Marredia is a current member of The National Association of Law Placement (NALP), and Associate Member of the First Year Diversity Recruiting Task Force which investigates and researches first year law student diversity hiring, including investigating member concerns surrounding diversity hiring. She also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the PoliChic Engagement Fund. Marredia is a former member on the Board of Directors for the Association of Law Firm Diversity Professionals (ALFDP).
