Dr. Margaret Magdesian, PhD, is the CEO & Founder of Ananda Devices Inc., with over 25 years in biopharmaceutical research. Motivated by her mother's struggle with a neurological disorder, she pursued a BSc in Pharmacology and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo. Her early research focused on Alzheimer's and Prion Diseases.
After she moved to Canada, and at McGill University Montreal Neurological Institute, Dr. Magdesian developed revolutionary technology for human nervous-system-on-a-chip, earning accolades like the Quebec Discovery of the Year 2016. In 2015, she founded Ananda Devices Inc., leveraging her cutting-edge technology to transform drug discovery. Under her leadership, Ananda Devices has forged partnerships with leading biopharmaceutical companies worldwide, revolutionizing drug testing methodologies.
With over 6 patents, Dr. Magdesian has garnered numerous awards, including the 2017 L’Oréal Women in Digital Award. She is also Vice-President of the Society of Toxicology of Canada, advocating for diversity in STEM.
