Mahesh Bule is a biopharmaceutical scientist with more than 15 years of experience in process development, late‑stage commercialization, and advanced therapeutic manufacturing. He currently serves as Director of Late‑Stage Process Development at AstraZeneca, where he leads the design and advancement of scalable, robust manufacturing processes that support clinical and commercial cell therapy programs. Before joining AstraZeneca, Mahesh served as a scientific leader at Kite Pharma (Gilead), where he spearheaded fully automated cell therapy process development. His work contributed to pioneering innovations in automation and digital transformation of cell therapy manufacturing. Earlier in his career, Mahesh held key process development roles at Amgen, where he developed and optimized late‑stage monoclonal antibody processes, enabling reliable scale‑up and tech transfer for global manufacturing. Mahesh is also an active contributor to the global cell and gene therapy community, sharing technical insights and helping shape best practices for next‑generation therapeutic manufacturing.
