Kyung Hwa Kang, Ph.D. is the CEO and co-founder of Celliaz, a biotechnology company developing next-generation therapies for vision restoration through endogenous retinal regeneration. She received her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Chung-Ang University and completed postdoctoral training at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She later served as a Principal Researcher and Research Professor at KAIST, and as a Research Professor at the University of Basel.
With over 20 years of experience in retinal biology and regenerative science, Dr. Kang combines deep scientific expertise with strong entrepreneurial leadership. Under her leadership, Celliaz has established a robust IP portfolio and advanced first-in-class antibody and gene therapy programs targeting degenerative retinal diseases. She has also secured competitive funding and global recognition through major government programs and international accelerators. Dr. Kang is committed to transforming the treatment paradigm and restoring vision for patients with currently untreatable retinal disorders.
