Keau Wong
Keau is a biotechnology associate faculty member at MiraCosta College and Director of Bioscience Workforce Initiatives supporting all (116) CA Community Colleges with over (40) Biotechnology technical degree programs, (6) CLIA training programs, as well as (4) CA Community College Biomanufacturing Bachelor’s degree programs.
Keau currently oversees multiple California Apprenticeship Initiative Biotechnology projects, serves as project director of the Strada Education Biotechnology Initiative, as co-director for the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine’s (CIRM) COMPASS program at MiraCosta, and as co-principal investigator for MiraCosta’s NSF ExLENT CA Biomanufacturing project.
Previously, he worked in translational biomedical research and commercial biotechnology for over a decade including NIH, NSF, and CIRM sponsored academic research, as well as over 6 years in high-throughput clinical genomics, process development, and manufacturing at Illumina Inc.
Keau earned a Master of Science in Biotechnology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University San Marcos.
