Katy Digovich is a co-founder and the CEO of Minutia, a biotech startup developing a functional cure for type 1 diabetes. Founded in collaboration with Tuan Vo-Dinh, PhD, the Head of the Duke Photonics Center and a world leader in biosensing, and Matthias Hebrok, PhD, the former Head of the UCSF Diabetes center and a leader in stem cell biology, Minutia’s solution builds on the last decade’s breakthrough cell transplantation innovations with an unconventional application of cell based sensors and an elegant transplant procedure.
Prior to launching Minutia, Katy served as Head of Special Projects on R&D for Clinton Health Access Initiative, where she led development of Clinton's diabetes strategy and launched their global diabetes program. A second time founder, Katy previously worked at the intersection of HIV and TB therapeutics and diagnostics in over 40 countries. She has been living with type 1 diabetes for 30+ years, and is the proud mom of a fierce baby girl named Blaise.
