Katherine Lee, PhD is an immunologist and postdoctoral researcher at the WVU Vaccine Development Center focused on advancing mRNA vaccine and therapeutic technologies. She earned her PhD in Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis from West Virginia University Health Sciences, where her research centered on developing and optimizing preclinical models and manufacturing pipelines for novel mRNA-based vaccines and immunotherapies. This work helped establish the Vaccine Development Center’s current mRNA genetic adjuvant and vaccine platform, which is now being applied to programs in pertussis, Lyme disease, anthrax, and cancer immunotherapy. Driven by a commitment to translational science, Leeco-founded Montani Biotechnologies, a West Virginia–based startup dedicated to expanding access to and applications of mRNA technologies for infectious disease and cancer.
