Katie Jones serves as Head of Federal Government Affairs for Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease. In this role, Katie leads execution of Alexion’s federal legislative and political strategy and champions efforts to position Alexion as a leader in rare disease policymaking in Washington DC. Prior to joining Alexion, Katie served as Executive Director, Government Affairs for Biodesix, a company specializing in blood-based diagnostics for lung cancer. She was responsible for elevating the company's profile amongst policymakers and congressional staff, developing and executing legislative and regulatory strategy, and overseeing coalition activities. Prior to Biodesix, Katie spent more than three years as Director, Federal Government Relations with McKesson and The US Oncology Network where she advocated on issues impacting community oncologists and cancer patients, directed congressional outreach and managed political affairs. Katie also has strong background in management of Political Action Committees (PAC). Katie holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
