Junjun Gao is the Sr. Director of Business Development & Licensing at Bayer Pharmaceuticals. He is responsible for search & evaluation of partnership opportunities from organizations in the US across multiple therapeutic areas. Prior to Bayer, Junjun worked at Boehringer Ingelheim’s external innovation group Research Beyond Borders for six years, leading scouting and execution of multiple biotech and academic partnerships. Before BI, Junjun spent eight years at Roche in the Discovery and Translational Areas of Infectious Diseases and made significant contributions to move several discovery programs into the clinic. Junjun received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from University of Texas at Austin and did his postdoc work at UCSF/Genentech in protein and antibody engineering.
