Julie Krop, MD

Dr. Krop is a board-certified physician with over 20 years of drug development experience. She has held executive leadership positions across multiple therapeutic areas, including orphan indications, in both pre-commercial and commercial organizations.
Dr. Krop is currently the Chief Medical Officer of DiaMedica Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on vascular health, with active development programs in preeclampsia and acute ischemic stroke. Prior to DiaMedica, she served as CMO at several public companies, including PureTech Health, Freeline Therapeutics, and AMAG Pharmaceuticals. At AMAG, she was responsible for the approval of three novel therapeutics — two in women's health — and oversaw late-stage development of an orphan drug candidate for the treatment of severe preeclampsia.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Krop held senior development roles at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Stryker Regenerative Medicine, Peptimmune, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and Pfizer.
Dr. Krop received her MD from Brown University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospital. She subsequently completed fellowships in epidemiology, clinical trial design, and endocrinology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Krop is board-certified in Endocrinology.
