Dr. Joy L. Jones is Executive Director of the Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials Award Program at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she helped design and lead the nation’s largest initiative training the next generation of community-oriented clinical trialists. With over 20 years of experience advancing equity, innovation, and workforce development, she has been instrumental in building a $124 million, award-winning program that integrates clinical trial excellence with community engagement and is on track to train more than 600 physician-scientists and medical students. Previously, as Chief Program Officer at National Medical Fellowships, Inc., Dr. Jones directed national initiatives in leadership, primary care, and research, expanding opportunities for underrepresented groups in medicine. Her international experience with UNICEF and PEPFAR spans health and education programs across Africa. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in International Development from Tulane University and serves on several national boards.
