Jon McClain serves as an Executive Director on the Lilly Catalyze team, responsible for the development and implementation of strategic negotiations for various Catalyze BD transactions. With a focus on value creation for early-stage biotech companies, he is an integral part of building out new deal-making constructs within corporate business development. Jon has worked in External Innovation for over 15 years in a variety of roles across Strategy, Intelligence, and Corporate Business Development. He has led strategy initiatives, intelligence projects and executed transactions across multiple therapeutic areas, geographies, and business units. His knowledge of the environment and deal structures has led to creative transactions that create value for both Lilly and partners. Post graduate school, Jon worked for 8 years at Lilly as a Biochemist in discovery research and on clinical stage assets including Cymbalta and Straterra.
