John Kim is the CEO of Onconic Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing next-generation therapies for cancer and gastrointestinal diseases. With a career spanning decades in the global pharmaceutical industry, he is recognized as a strategic leader with expertise in drug development, commercialization, and international business partnerships. Under his leadership, Onconic Therapeutics has achieved significant milestones, most notably the successful development and approval of JAQBO® (zastaprazan), a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB). John’s vision is centered on addressing unmet medical needs through best-in-class and first-in-class therapies, supported by a robust pipeline that includes a promising tankyrase/PARP dual inhibitor for multiple solid tumors. Prior to joining Onconic Therapeutics, John held key leadership roles in new drug development at major domestic and global pharmaceutical companies, where he developed extensive experience navigating complex regulatory environments and building cross-border collaborations.
