Dr. Howard has over 35 years of experience directing biotechnology groups in research, regulatory, production, intellectual property, and business development in two Fortune 500 companies and two Start-up Companies. He has manged groups of 200 direct reports with annual budgets of $20 million as well as start up companies. He is an author/inventor on >100 publications and patents. Early in his career he directed technology development leading to the first commercial products for crop improvement. Later he turned his attention to developing plant-produced recombinant proteins and introduced the first of these products as animal-free sourced reagents used in the pharmaceutical industry (e.g. TrypZean). He founded Applied Biotechnology Institute, where he has continued developing technology and protein candidates for oral delivery of vaccines and therapeutics. Dr. Howard holds a PhD in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside.
