Jerry Chen, PhD

Jerry Chen is a drug discovery leader with 15 years of experience across academia and industry, specializing in forward genetics, translational biology, and therapeutic development. He trained in Dr. Bruce Beutler’s laboratory at UT Southwestern, where he contributed to the large-scale in vivo ENU mutagenesis platforms and identified genetic drivers in inflammatory and metabolic disease models. Prior to founding ENU Medicines, Jerry held progressive leadership roles in pharma and biotech, advancing multiple therapeutic programs toward clinical development. At ENU, he integrates forward genetics, mechanistic biology, and medicinal chemistry to build first-in-class, disease-modifying therapies, initially focused on food allergy.
