Dr. Israel Lowy joined Regeneron in 2010 as vice president and now serves as senior vice president, clinical development unit head, oncology. He is a primary architect of Regeneron’s cancer immunotherapy program. During his career, he designed and led the first clinical studies of anti PD 1 and anti PD L1, as well as the first combination studies of anti PD 1 and anti CTLA 4, and he is now leading Regeneron’s efforts to develop new combinatorial approaches to immunotherapy in cancer. Prior to joining Regeneron, Dr. Lowy was at Medarex for eight years. Before that, he was an assistant professor of medicine and microbiology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Lowy is a licensed physician and has been board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. He received his A.B. in biochemical sciences from Princeton University and his M.D. and Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biophysics from Columbia University.
