Ian Simon is Director of Biosecurity Policy and Partnerships at Flyttr (formerly Oxitec), where he works at the intersection of policy and partnerships to address critical threats to human health and food security. He most recently served as Director of the OCice of Long COVID Research and Practice at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he led government-wide coordination on the long-term impacts of COVID-19. Previously, Dr. Simon was Assistant Director for Health Strategy and Biopreparedness at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where he shaped federal strategy on pandemic prevention, health security, and public-private innovation. He holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland and a Ph.D. from Yale University.
