Huong Huynh, PhD is Director of Regulatory Science at Critical Path Institute (C-Path) and Professor of Practice at The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. At C-Path, Huong leads the development of regulatory strategies for the organization and bridges communication with regulatory authorities; she has contributed to securing nearly $5 million in grant funding from FDA to standup a new public-private partnership to address rare neurodegenerative diseases and to establish two pre-consortia for research on unmet medical needs in alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and lysosomal diseases. At The University of Arizona, Huong is lead instructor for the course LAW 576A: Drug Discovery, Development, and in the Market as part of the Graduate Certificate in Regulatory Science. Prior to joining C-Path, Huong was a review pharmacologist at FDA, where she contributed to the assessment of the approvability of over 300 regulatory submissions, leading to the approval of over 50 generic drug products. Huong currently serves on the Board of the Orange County Regulatory Affairs Discussion Group (OCRA-DG) and has previously served on the Boards and committees of the FDA Alumni Association (FDAAA), San Diego Regulatory Affairs Network (SDRAN), FDA Women of CDER, Association of Women in Science (AWIS) – San Diego Chapter and the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA). Huong has served as a session panelist at RAPS Convergence 2022 and session chair at DIA Global 2023. Huong received her PhD in pharmacology and completed postdoctoral training in signal transduction.
