Dr. Héctor G. Palmer is co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of Oniria. He has a degree in Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB, Spain) and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM, Spain). He did two post-doctoral training in the “Alberto Sols” Biomedical Research Institute (IIBM, CSIC-UAM, Spain) and in Cancer Research UK Institute (London and Cambridge, UK). He has dedicated his entire career to studying the molecular mechanisms responsible for drug-resistance, relapse and metastasis, as well as response to experimental treatments. He is the group leader of the Stem Cells and Cancer lab at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO, Spain) since 2008. He has more than 30 papers published in high-impact scientific journals.
