Gerry Gleeson is a recognized industry leader in large-/small-molecule, specialty, biologics, oncology and vaccine therapeutic areas across numerous market access and trade business channels. Gerry led the market access launch and pricing strategy for a specialty and general medicines portfolio. He transformed the negotiations and business relationship with top wholesaler/specialty distributor organizations in the US to ensure on-time distribution of Sanofi’s US portfolio. He has significant US pricing and policy expertise, specifically in the areas related to the Inflation Reduction Act.
Most recently, as Head of US Market Access & Wholesale Trade at Sanofi, a global biopharmaceutical company, Gerry spearheaded negotiations with large scale payers, PBMs, GPOs, and wholesalers, along with national account management and sales teams to secure access for the US product portfolio.
Previously, at Walgreens, an integrated healthcare, retail, and specialty pharmacy, Gerry guided the organization in becoming the third-largest US Specialty Pharmacy in revenue and covered lives by transforming the go-to-market model to focus on acquiring new business and streamlining operating expenses. He forged strategic business partnerships with biopharmaceutical manufacturers across all core segments.
Earlier in his career Gerry held leadership positions at Merck, KMPC Peat Marwick LLP, and New York Life Health Care Plans. He has previously served as a board member at Option Care, CareMetx, and the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy.
