George Walters-Marrah

I'm a doctoral candidate in Biophysics at Stanford University and President and COO of StrandID, where we're building a universal genome detection platform for point-of-care diagnostics. At StrandID, I lead the development of STRAND, a technology that uses computationally designed DNA probes to detect whole pathogen genomes on a simple lateral flow strip, delivering lab-grade sensitivity without instruments or trained personnel. My thesis research explores lysosomal biology, inflammation, and lipid metabolism. Beyond the bench, I'm engaged in translating scientific discoveries into real-world impact through life science entrepreneurship, investing, and intellectual property strategy.
