Faisal Khan, PhD

Faisal M. Khan, Ph.D., is Vice President, AI & Analytics in AI & Digital Innovation (ADI) at Novo Nordisk. In this role, Faisal leads the application of advanced artificial intelligence, data science, and analytics across the R&D value chain, driving the development and deployment of AI models and solutions that support drug discovery, development, and clinical programmes. The scope of work includes imaging analytics, digital biomarkers, and the integration of AI into R&D digital products, embedding “AI inside” scientific and digital workflows to translate data into actionable insights that improve decision-making and accelerate innovation. Prior to joining Novo Nordisk, Dr. Khan held senior leadership roles in advanced analytics and AI, including serving as Executive Director at AstraZeneca, where global data science teams were led across the drug development lifecycle. Faisal Khan’s professional interests span data science, digital health, biostatistics, bioimaging, personalised medicine, and healthcare delivery, with experience across diagnostics, devices, clinical trials and therapeutics, and payer systems. He has worked across academia and industry with both start-ups and Fortune 50 companies and has authored more than 100 publications, abstracts, and patents in machine learning and artificial intelligence for healthcare and the life sciences.
