Africa. She is a Board Member in two startups and serves as Advisor in biopharma and Medtech organisations working on non-invasive vagus nerve modulation. Elena is championing for Longevity from science to clinical applications, population health economics; she was invited to join the Board of the Women Health Community Initiative led by Kearney, and has recently joined the Board of Care in Switzerland.
Elena was selected twice as one of the top 50 AI Innovators by Intelligent Health in 2020 and in 2023. She is a founding member of the Holomedicine Association; Chair of the Board of SkinCare and Vice Chair of the DIGITALEUROPE Executive Council for Healthcare since it’s creation in 2021. She recently joined the Board of Movement Health Foundation, an organization founded by Roche, Siemens Healthineers, Microsoft to build strong and sustainable healthcare systems. From 2017-2020 she was part of the HIMSS Europe Governing Council.
A signature outcome of her work – together with engineering and research -was the design of the AI partnership with Novartis and the AI for Leprosy initiative with Novartis Foundation and Fiocruz published in The Lancet/Elsevier.
/Leading with a Data-first approach, in 2021 Elena spearheaded an initiative for the prevention of gastric cancer with data and AI, leading to the largest EU consortium of health providers in this field. In September 2025 together with the Kearney Women Health initiative she championed the Data and AI Manifesto to close the gap on Women Health.
Elena co-chaired the Health Cloud Council from 2015-2019 leading work on secondary use of data and the creation of the first global data collaborative in cardiovascular population health.
She has been working in the health sector for 20+ years, starting in health policy at EU level, as leader for Microsoft’s public sector healthcare in EMEA. Prior to Microsoft she led welfare policy analysis and simulations in Italy, and started her career in oncology patient support programs in France. During her time as Director for Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility at CSR Europe, she worked cross sectors to drive transformation of strategy and business processes across accessibility, welfare, health and environmental sustainability.
She is an active advocate and public speaker representing Microsoft Healthcare and Life Sciences’ AI strategy, and supported the creation of the Healthcare Data Innovation Council, a partnership of healthcare actors to progress regulatory frameworks for data sharing in health and life sciences.
In her personal time, Elena championed the transformational impact of meditation in personal and professional development, working with the Centre for Evolutionary Learning.
She promotes the empowerment of women in leadership. In 2007 she led the creation and became founding member of the Women in leadership Network and still today she is an active champion for Diversity and Inclusion at Microsoft.
Elena is a proud mother of two kids with whom she loves to travel, discover art and do sport.
