David R. Craig, PharmD

David Craig is a pharmaceutical executive with over 30 years of experience in drug development, fundraising, and global commercialization. As the founder and driving force behind Sarcomatrix, David has positioned the company as a leader in regenerative medicine for muscle-wasting diseases, leveraging his deep expertise in muscle biology to bridge the gap between scientific hypothesis and clinical execution. Prior to Sarcomatrix, David held senior leadership and executive roles at industry giants Amgen, Gilead, and Alexion. Throughout his career, he has successfully led global product launches for multiple blockbuster drugs and has provided strategic clinical and commercial guidance as a consultant to numerous biotechnology firms. David is a vocal advocate for "pragmatic, multi-modal innovation" in the rare disease sector. He champions the development of small molecule therapeutics, such as S-969, as scalable and deployable bridges that complement existing genetic approaches to provide immediate impact for patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and other degenerative conditions. He holds both a PharmD and an MBA, combining clinical rigor with the financial sophistication required to navigate today's execution-centric biotech market. Under his leadership, Sarcomatrix is currently transitioning into Phase 1 clinical trials.
