Carlo Toniatti, MD, PhD is the Chief Scientific Officer at IRBM, an integrated biotechnology and medicine research institute, where he is responsible for the overall scientific strategy, portfolio management, scientific execution, and alliances management. Throughout his career, he has acquired strong expertise in oncology drug discovery and development across biotech, pharmaceutical companies, and academia. He is highly familiar with all the steps required to develop oncology drugs, including both small molecules and biologics. He has successfully led multiple programs and cross-functional teams, boasting significant experience in directing drug discovery programs from target identification/validation to IND-filing and clinical development, as well as in executing translational research. Moreover, he is experienced in managing collaborations between academia and industry and in portfolio management. He has published more than 90 manuscripts (h-index 49) and is the author of 10 patents.
