Camille Cushman, PhD

Principal Scientist
Viska Bio
Camille Cushman is a virologist and research scientist with a strong foundation in molecular oncology and cancer biology. She earned her B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Bates College and went on to complete her Ph.D. in Virology at Harvard University through the Harvard Program in Virology. During her doctoral training at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Camille investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying small molecule sensitivity and cancer development in Merkel cell carcinoma, a virally associated neuroendocrine skin cancer. Her work focused on characterizing molecular responses to PRMT5 inhibitors and included designing and executing CRISPR screening experiments, protein expression analyses (western blotting, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence), and next-generation sequencing approaches such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and CUT&RUN. She later brought her expertise to Viska Bio, where she has worked for two years as a research and development scientist. At Viska Bio, she leads our research team and oversees all in vivo studies. Across her academic and industry experience, Camille has demonstrated strong analytical skills, technical depth, and a collaborative approach to advancing translational cancer research.
